The holidays are over, my mother-in-law has gone back home and I know that I have a list of chores from my wife that needs to be done before getting back to work, so our home is back to looking perfect.
Vacuuming the carpets is not enough to get rid of all our unwanted guests. Proper steam and manual cleaning by professional machines are necessary. I recently read an article about carpets and their benefits to a healthier home and realised quickly that the biggest air filter in my home (my carpet!!) was in desperate need of some TLC.
Lurking just below the surface of our carpet pile is a colony of unwanted guests. A recent contaminant test, in a normal household, found that the average carpet contains pollen (allergy sufferers beware), dust mites, skin cells (we shed, on average, 1.5 million cells per day!), pet dander (hair, droppings, slobber), allergens and dust.
Routine vacuuming is a must but if you are interested in deep cleaning your carpets you will need to hire a machine, buy your own or rent a contractor to come in and do it.
Take time to decide which method is best for you.
- Make sure high-quality products are used on your carpets. All our detergents are professionally formulated so you can rest assured knowing that our products will not damage your investment and will keep them cleaner for longer. This is one drawback of contractors, you have no control over the products being used on your carpet.
- Are you comfortable having strangers in your home? If using a contractor, make sure the company is reputable so you are protected from potentially unsafe situations.
- What method do they use? Our machines use the spray extraction method and this is the method recommended by most carpet manufacturers.
